The Position

The Consultant/Producer is ideal for an insurance professional who is looking for more opportunity and to become an industry expert. In this position you will be primarily responsible for assisting the firm and its current clients/brokers/carrier relationships, generating new leads and up selling opportunities from our current book of business.

Responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:

  • Development of existing broker partner relationships
  • Assess environmental risk of specific accounts and consult/advise broker and insured on various ways to manage or finance such risk;
  • Assess carrier policy forms and negotiate with carriers to match coverage with the risk inherent to the insured’s operations
  • Secure carrier quotes for coverage
  • Create professional insurance proposals
  • Manage and develop new carrier relationships
  • Become industry subject matter expert and make industry presentations, write industry papers/articles, maintain a commitment to professional development through industry education.

Qualifications

Two or more years as a casualty or professional liability underwriter or licensed insurance agent/broker. Preferable experience specializing in environmental or construction-related (architects, engineers, contractors) professional liability insurance and risk management, however not required.

Candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills, combined with the ability and flexibility to work in a dynamic, challenging and fast paced environment.

Ideal candidate has field experience and some underwriting and brokerage experience with knowledge of environmental and/or construction or construction related professional liability insurance.
